Beta Epsilon Chapter of Theta Xi was founded in 1952, the second oldest social fraternity at UC Davis.  Over the years, it remained at the same address on First Street, eventually acquiring 3 adjacent houses that held as many as 55 men.

By 2015, however, the houses were over 100 years old and were feeling their age.  While the men who lived there loved those houses, it was apparent that they had to be replaced with a facility that could last much longer, perhaps another 100 years!

The decision was made to tear down two of the houses and build a single one on the two lots.  The Main House would remain and still does to this day, under different ownership.

OUR STORY

The new house opened in 2023, with much hope for a renewal of our chapter, which had been beset with lower recruiting levels for several years.  Unfortunately, Beta Epsilon still doesn't have the membership needed to support the house, and we have decided to offer our communal living experience to other organizations who wish to accommodate their own members in a shared or exclusive arrangement.

Alternatively, individual rooms are available for lease to any student who is not a member of the fraternity. All rooms may be occupied as a Single or Shared Double, regardless of gender. All occupants share common areas in the building.

Meanwhile, we plan to broaden our membership to include more diverse interests, continue our drive for academic excellence and maintain our values including a no-hazing policy, respect for women, and brotherhood.
